Hidden Treasure in San Diego

I am always so envious of the classes offered by Guilds in Great Britain. Yes, we have sewing and quilting circles in the States. You can take a huge variety of classes offered by professionals in almost any area of contemporary art textiles that you want to. But to find a resource that offers classes to the community for free is rare.  If you've kept up with this blog you know that I took a 9 month certificate course in interactive media (5 hours a day, 5 days a week on state of the art Macs) where I was introduced to Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Final Cut Pro and other visual and multi media software programs a few years ago.  This life changing course led to independent study of digital textile design, which in turn completely changed the way I design fabric, quilts and art wear.  Life has given me the luxury of two years of studio time to create a several series of quilted art hangings. Non Working Order

If you've been wondering why no images of my current projects, here's the answer. I work wonderfully well in chaos. But it had gotten to the point of closing the door to the studio and having an attack of agita, whenever any one ventured any where near. So I packed everything up, called the commercial cleaning folks, had them come in and wash the walls, ceiling and deep clean the tile floors. Scrounged up some recycled shelving, put new light bulbs in all of the fixtures. You know what happened next. I don't know where anything is. I put my stylus and pad, along with my camera battery charger in something. What I don't know. Now I can't find either. I think they are in a plastic container in the shed, but the shed is full of the stuff not in my clean, fully shelved studio. So until I find the energy and courage, no new images. Maybe tomorrow, just like Scarlett O'Hara said.
