Waves II, my small work, was selected for an online exhibition in conjunction with the BECA Lab AD Exhibition in Albuquerque, NM. Waves II was created using hand dyed, 100% cotton repurposed bed linens, cut and torn into strips, hand woven, and hand stitched. The work is one in a series of woven and stitched pieces influenced by the ever changing majesty of the Pacific Ocean. One of my small woven and stitched pieces is now on exhibit at BECA: Bridge for Emerging Contemporary Art   in Albuquerque, NM, USA. Wave II  Yasmin Sabur 2011 This is the second in the Wave Series. The inspiration for this work is the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Southern California. The series is an attempt to break the boundaries of traditional fiber arts - quilting, weaving, dyeing and stitching by combining elements of each to create a new art form. Recycled cotton; hand dyed using a low water immersion process; cut into strips; hand woven and hand stitched. 10.75X8.25 inches January 2011
