Update on yasmintoo!

I had a great week and I'm looking forward to a busy and fulfilling week ahead.

The San Diego Quilt Show was Saturday. What a treat. The quilts were beautiful and creative. It was good to see so many San Diego, Southern California and Arizona quilting guilds and organizations represented. After the show I went to the San Diego Continuing Education North City Center MAC lab to scan in some hand drawn strikeups for my next textile projects. Saw old classmates, friends and had a quick minute to speak with Randall Cornish, the leading font expert in San Diego, and an instructor at NCC and UCSD.

I've created three new blogs. Tuesday's Designer is now a separate blog. Tuesday, September 22 will see the first post featuring Hoyt Johnson and his colorful resist textiles. You can follow the international designer's blogs at http://tuesdaysdesigner.blogspot.com/.

CreatingGreen.blogspot.com is the new home of what was the Eco Etsy feature on Wednesdays. The first post will be September 23, featuring the Etsy shop Chickscratch. Chickscratch is a member of San Diego East County Etsy Team, so am I.

I was pleased to be selected as a manager of the LinkedIn group  - Design, Fabrics, Textiles, Sewing, Jewelry, Crafts, Art and more ... Network. Not quite sure what this entails yet, but certainly honored to be selected.

This week I am working on lino cuts for Holiday Cards (my mother, my most loyal customer has already placed her order), and new designs for fabric which will be digitally printed. Target date for having all the new stuff in yasmintoo! is October 15th. I thought I'd come up with a family project for recipe aprons (more on that later), when my sister reminded me to stay focused. I attribute that lapse to having Starbucks and a brownie for breakfast instead of a weak cup of Irish tea with honey and soy milk, and a smoothie with bananas, blueberries, almonds, soymilk and a pinch of golden seal.

Here's to staying focused!
