Painted Pony Arts Festival - Jamul Arts and Music Council

(I'm showing at this event. I think this is the most wonderful story. Art rises in the ashes of fire. What could be more affirming? I believe there is room for more artists.)

Promoting and expanding arts education and opportunities in the arts for both school and community.

Dear Artist:
The Jamul Arts and Music Council, also known as JAM, would like to invite you to participate in the Second Annual Painted Pony Arts Festival. Since JAM received a San Diego County Enhancement Grant, there will be no booth fees! Jamul is only 26 minutes from downtown San Diego, and is easily accessible from all of San Diego County and the East County communities. After our community was devastated by the Harris Fire, JAM decided to rise from the ashes and promote Jamul as a developing cultural center for the arts beginning with this Festival.
The Festival will be on Saturday, November 7th from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The location will be outside on the grounds of Jamul Intermediate School, rain or shine. Artistically painted live horses, genuine equine, will be on display as performance art. Plus, for extra ‘horse power’ beautifully airbrushed motorcycles will be featured. There will be booths of artists, children’s activities, food booths, and live musical performances throughout the day. An east county high school art venue is new this year. The event will be highly publicized with flyers to all of the local schools, churches, day care facilities, and businesses in the community. Last year’s festival was City Beat’s pick of the week. Articles and ads will be in the local newspaper and the Union Tribune. Information will be given to various companies and organizations on the web. A master flyer will be mailed to each artisan for sharing at events they attend. A sign will be posted beside Highway 94 which may be read by over 10,000 East County residents and visitors.
We do not rent or provide tables, chairs or canopies. Booth set up begins at 7:00 a.m. You will be able to drive close to the display area to unload but we suggest bringing a dolly. It is your responsibility to pay all California sales tax. There are no pets or smoking allowed on the grounds.
This event is run entirely by volunteers from the Jamul Arts and Music Council. Please direct additional questions to JamulJam@yahoo.com.
