Happy Earth Day!
So glad to live on this Earth and to have an opportunity to celebrate with all of you. Have a wonderful Earth Day, and take advantage of all of the events taking place.
Here in San Diego, there are so many Earth Day celebrations and art events that it is very difficult to choose what to do this weekend.
I have two art events:
The opening reception for the Encinitas 2nd Annual Environmental Art Show is Saturday.

Encinitas is also having an Art Walk Saturday and Sunday on Highway 101.
The North Park Craft Mafia Sunday, Crafty Sunday Show is this Sunday. I have a booth. Come by and visit.
The Oceanside Art Walk is in a beautiful location. This is a stress free event.
The Oceanside Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) is presenting the eighteenth annual Oceanside Days of Art. The festival will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 17 and 18, 2010 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM, in and around the Oceanside Civic Center.
Every year over one hundred artists display their work along Pier View Way between North Coast Highway and Ditmar. An exciting variety of artwork, including all forms of painting and graphics, sculpture, ceramics, blown glass and much more are exibited and for sale. Many artists demonstrate their art techniques live in their booths. Oceanside area students participate in the festival, and local musicians and other performers make this a true community event.
ArtWalk in San Diego's Little Italy is a totally different kind of event. Packed with people, art, and the great restaurants of Little Italy. Take the trolley.

I will miss my favorite conference this year. If you are interested in food, growing your own food, gardening, the political ramifications of food, meeting others interested in what I refer to as the good food movement, you won't want to miss:
Cuyamaca Community College and the amazing gardens are a tremendous resource for Southern San Diego County.
Spring Festival this year is on Saturday, April 24th.
9:00 am - 4:00 pm:
SPRING GARDEN FESTIVAL
Join the Water Conservation Garden, Cuyamaca College’s Ornamental Horticulture Department, and the Heritage of the Americas Museum as we celebrate spring and green future. “Conservation in Bloom” is our event’s theme, and our Conservation Courtyard will feature tips on green living from experts. The college will host its biggest plant sale of the year, and Eric Runningpath and the Intertribal Dancers will perform at the Museum. Ask the Designers, the Water Smart Plaza and live entertainment will be featured at the Garden. Children’s activities and horticultural information will be part of the fun throughout the day.

Yep, so this is one of those weekends when I wish I was at least four or five people. But being just one works out too.
