Things I Do

(The images in this post are what I call home shots. I use them for recording my inventory. Not the best shots. The work is professionally photographed before being placed in the YSabur Shop for printing on matted and framed paper prints, giclee prints, posters, cards, pillow and tote bags. YS)

I practice my craft daily.

I am still fascinated by simple geometric shapes.

I spend time with younger people and try to stay open to what they are saying and what is going on in their parallel universe.

I work in the garden, and try to grow and eat as much organic produce as I can.

I am vegan. Okay being vegan is a process. Been practicing for five years and still sometimes have to have some dairy. On occasion, cream in my coffee, ice cream, and cheese, cheese is a difficult one for me.

I give my original work away to friends and family.

I partner with socially committed non-profits and share the proceeds of art work sales with them

I am trying to master the traditional fiber art processes - dyeing, stitching, resist work, block printing, silk screen, hand painting. This has been a fifty year journey, and one that I hope to continue for my lifetime.

I meditate and pray.

I love playing with design in Photoshop and Illustrator.

I enjoy solitude

I follow my own path

I support efforts for all human beings to have families, jobs, healthy bodies created from healthy foods, homes and housing, water, education, the freedom to travel the world without boundaries, enjoyment of social and cultural activities, the freedom to worship, ownership and control of community and national natural resources.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
