What Has YAS Been Up To? 
An exciting part of being a creative entrepreneur is making decisions and resolving issues. Every day presents a new challenge. Swift, polite, straight forward emails acknowledging and answering questions. Phone calls to partners’ customer service departments. Tracking deliveries. Steep learning curve on the latest software program or social media platform. Deciding if something is a good fit now or needs to filed away for future use.

Learning to pace myself  - from creating new art work to checking stats - has required the most work. 
Like everyone else, I want it and I want it now. Not happening. 
But I’ve also learned not to regard my daily to do list as the Holy Grail. Some days are great for photography, no matter what was on the list. Other days are dry and crisp, time to block print. 
This week I’ve worked on photography, block printing and digital design. 
Deviating from the usual is a good thing. 
Renews my spirit and reminds me why I’m doing this in the first place. 
Off to work at the print station.

The Dye Garden

The idea of the dye garden is very simple. Request dye plant seeds from me, or buy your own and begin your garden. Doesn't matter whether you have an acre, a small backyard, a window sill or a balcony. See below for links on how to get your seeds started. I've ordered indigo seeds from Botanical Colors (Madam Magyar), Blue Light Junction (grown in Baltimore, MD) and Ossabaw Island, GA (Mayan Blue). Soon indigo seeds should be arriving from my friend Kiri in Brazil.   In addition to the indigo seeds, I also have weld, woad, coreopsis, black hopi sunflower and madder seeds.  This seed variety will produce a full spectrum of colors. Primary colors when used individually in a dyebath, and a host of secondary and tertiary colors when combined. Facebook, Friends, Family, Business Pages, Groups

Lots of blah, blah, wee going on about FaceBook and 25 friends, business pages no longer the be all end all, and having more meaningful interactions with family, friends and in groups. Some folks are in an uproar (some folks are always in an uproar, or so it seems). "Our relationship is in trouble." Here it comes.
