You Are Gratitude

Some where along the way, I have misfiled the image for this post. I know that I made a collage for gratitude.
Next week when I find it, the gratitude image will accompany content for another thing I am grateful. Lots of gratitude in my life.

The Skinny:

YAS dress: Everything (hoodie, legging and t-shirt) from the Native Nations Collection
Vintage merino wool handknit cap
Piccadilly: leather knapsack
Jeffrey Campbell: Mael boot

Thinking and Thoughts

Funny thing about life, some things you know you should be grateful for, others kind of take you by surprise.
I grew up in Chicago, on the Great Lake Michigan.
Water was never an issue.
Wind chill factor, blizzards, summer humidity and heat, yes.
Water, well no.
Following in the foot steps of great uncle Johnnie, who moved to California during the Great Migration of the early 20th century (See Jacob Lawrence’s monumental series on the subject of the GreatMigration), my immediate tribe (Mother, Aunt & Uncle, sisters, cousins and assorted spouses and wee ones) moved to San Diego.
We moved from the land of lakes to the desert.
Now living in the San Joaquin Delta, Central Valley of California, USA, North America, Earth, water and rain are not only environmental, conservation and sustainability issues, but hot button political issues, too.
So, on Friday when the rain finally came, we were overjoyed.
And it rained Friday afternoon, evening and night.
Then more gorgeous rain fell on Saturday.
You know I am grateful.
Are there things in your life that you never expected to be grateful for, but are?
