Back in the Studio

I've spent the last two years in school. I now have PTSD due to my obsessive compulsive personality. (I learned all this in my psych classes.)

I also learned a lot about process, concept, research and organization. These are lessons I will apply to my creative work in the studio.

Several new projects are waiting for me to begin work. The weather is not co-operating. I like to dye fabric when the temperature is over 80 degrees. Usually it would be by now, but we're having an unusual and extended spring/rainy season. Perfect weather for cutting and printing stencils and blocks. The new projects begin with dyeing, so I'm putting those off for a few weeks.

Instead of carving and printing, I've pulled out some older work that needs to be finished. Adding, subtracting, cutting, rearranging, backing and binding. That should keep me busy for a while.

Later this week, I'll get out the old trusty camera and take some shots. For now I'm glad to be back where I belong. (Still need five classes for my degree. That may not happen. Tremendous admiration for folks who are students. Deliver me.)
